Continuous Improvement of the Standard System: One-Stop Transmission Regulates the Development of the Sprocket, Chain, Gear and Bearing Industry
Release time:2026-05-15

Recently, a number of industry standards in China's chain transmission, gear, and bearing fields have been approved and released or started to be revised, and the standard system has been continuously improved. It provides unified specifications for the R&D, production, testing, and application of sprockets, chains, gears, and bearings, and at the same time promotes the standardized and institutionalized development of the one-stop transmission service model, helping the high-quality development of the industry.
The coverage of industry standards is constantly expanding. In recent years, institutions such as the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Chain Transmission, and the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Gears have continuously promoted the formulation and revision of standards in the transmission component field. In September 2025, two chain transmission industry standards, "Test Method for Wear Resistance of Precision Roller Chains (Bushing Chains)" and "Bucket Elevator Chains and Sprockets", were approved and released, and officially implemented in March 2026, standardizing the test methods and technical requirements for precision chains, bucket elevator chains, and sprockets. In the gear and bearing fields, documents such as high-precision gear accuracy standards and high-speed precision bearing technical specifications have also been issued one after another, covering all-dimensional requirements such as materials, processes, precision, testing, and service life. At present, China's transmission component industry has formed a complete standard system covering basic general, product performance, test methods, safety and environmental protection, and other aspects.
Standard upgrading promotes the standardization of one-stop services. One-stop transmission services involve the integrated adaptation of four types of components: sprockets, chains, gears, and bearings. Ununified standards can easily lead to problems such as poor component compatibility and uncoordinated performance. With the improvement of industry standards, the dimensional tolerances, performance indicators, and testing methods of the four components have been gradually unified, providing a standardized basis for one-stop integrated design. For example, the unified standard for the shaft hole tolerance of gears and sprockets enables direct matching and assembly; the connection between the chain pitch and the sprocket tooth profile standard ensures stable meshing; the correspondence between the bearing precision level and the gear precision standard guarantees the consistency of the transmission system precision. At the same time, for links such as the design, testing, and acceptance of one-stop integrated solutions, the industry has gradually formed supporting specifications, clarifying the performance indicators, adaptation requirements, and after-sales responsibilities of integrated solutions, and promoting the transformation of one-stop services from "experience-based" to "standardized".
Standard leadership helps the high-quality development of the industry. Strict industry standards force enterprises to improve their technical level and product quality, eliminate backward production capacity, and promote the improvement of industry concentration. Under the standard specifications, one-stop transmission service enterprises need to simultaneously improve their R&D and production capabilities of the four types of components, strengthen technical coordination and quality control, thereby promoting the overall technical upgrading of the industry. In addition, the improved standard system provides support for domestic transmission components to participate in international competition, helps the export of high-end products, and enhances the international voice of China's transmission component industry. Industry experts said that in the future, industry standards will further upgrade towards high-end, intelligent, and green directions, continuously leading the innovative development of one-stop transmission services, and providing guarantees for China's transformation from a major manufacturer of transmission components to a strong manufacturer.
